Marcelo Injured, Real Madrid Left Back Crisis
The Real Madrid player’s injury list has grown. This time, it is Marcelo’s turn to enter the treatment room.
Marcelo got a hamstring injury when Real Madrid tumbled 0-1 from Real Betis at the Santiago Bernabeu in the fifth week of the Spanish League 2017-2018 on Wednesday (20/09/2017) or early Thursday morning.
The Brazilian left-back was groaning in pain after a hard run and past goalkeeper Antonio Adan in the 70th minute.
“It hurts for me to lose Marcelo and concede goals,” Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane told the club’s official website.
Not yet known how long it took Marcelo to recover. One thing is certain, losing Marcelo is a big loss for Los Blancos.
The absence of the 29-year-old made El Real run out of stock left-back in the first team. Earlier, Theo Hernandez first entered the medical room with a shoulder injury.
In an emergency like this, Zidane could have forced Nacho to play in the left sector. Nacho’s natural position is right-back.
